A lifelong Oklahoman and native Tulsan, Robert and his wife have made Norman their home for over 20 years. Many of Robert’s original songs are mined from the diverse events and characters comprising the rich history of Oklahoma. After all, how can we really know who we are and where we might be going without fully understanding where we’ve been?
Robert’s award winning song “Woody” garnered some attention in the mid 1980’s and was picked up by a radio show broadcast on several Public Radio stations nationwide.
Robert’s influences include a variety of songwriters past and present and in addition to original songs, his performances include many of their songs as well as his take on many traditional songs. Music is, and always has been a wonderful vehicle for conveying perceptions and understandings of ourselves and life experiences.
Tradition is a malleable continuum.
