Tom Crider is a singer/songwriter from Norman, Oklahoma writing country, folk, jazz, pop, blues and gospel tunes. He is a member of NSAI, Taxi, Norman Songwriters and the Oklahoma Songwriter Circle. In December of 2008 Tom was awarded “Suggested Artist of the month” for his song “A Drifter’s Love” in the “Song of the Year” competition.

He has written over seventy songs and has released four CD’s. Tom recently attended a Taxi Convention in LA and was selected to perform his original tune “Breezy Kind of Day” in the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Hotel before hundreds of his fellow songwriters.

Tom Crider has been writing songs since the fourth grade. Back then, he was a member of a Band called the Squirrels. They had two songs in their repertoire; “Beverly” written about a girl in his class and “Hey Hey we’re the Squirrels” which was based ever so slightly on the Monkey’s theme song. We had one gig, Homeroom. The kids went nuts! Everyone except Beverly, who as Tom remembers, was more than a little embarrassed. Well, you can’t please everyone…

Tom’s been passionately trying to write the perfect song off and on now for quite some time. Though perfection is elusive, he’s having a lot of fun trying!

His goal is to write a perfect song then send it to that fourth grader Beverly. If only he could remember her last name.
