Bill May has been playing guitar and singing since he was 16 and has only recently expanded his talents into songwriting.
Bill's musical influences are as varied as he is. "I was raised on country, got into the Beatles when I turned 16 and started playing the guitar" he said. "I loved the Byrds then discovered most of their tunes were Bob Dylan's so I got into Dylan."
As far as his songwriting is concerned, he likes songs that tell a good story or songs with a political message, which is why he is so fond of Steve Earle.
He continues "so far I haven't written a good political one but I am working on it!"
Bill says he writes and plays not just because he enjoys it but he strongly believes that music can change the world for the better.
Bill grew up in Midwest City but found himself out west in Nevada for 20 years, both in Reno and Las Vegas.
2004 brought him back to Oklahoma to be closer to family and when not onstage or in the studio Bill can be found building Harley’s and working on cars in a home tucked back in the woods east of Noble.
